USED SOFTWARE FOR ENTERPRISES

Exchange Server Licenses

Exchange 2013

The terms of use remain essentially unchanged. The migration of previous versions and integration in existing environments is, however, anything but simple.

Functions and formats have been adapted, replaced or are no longer available. The technical description of the required adaptations of an existing Exchange environment spans, for instance, 56 pages.

The licensing fees for Exchange 2013 Standard and Enterprise User CALs went up by approx. 15%. The prices of Device CALs remain unchanged.

Client Access Lizenzen (CALs)

Specific to the Exchange Server being accessed by IT users, there are no editions that can be used in a licensing agreement compliant manner without Client Access Licenses (CALs).

There are two different CALs for the Exchange Server, the two respective versions User CAL and Device CAL:

  • Exchange Server Standard CALs – a basic prerequisite for access to the Exchange Server
  • Exchange Server Enterprise CALs – the standard CAL is a basic prerequisite for usage
